Baseboard heat runs at 1:1, which makes it some of the most expensive heat in the city. A **3-head Fujitsu AOU-U36** multi-zone covers the main floor, bedrooms and basement without cutting a single duct. The Scarborough Village job near Bluffer's Park turned the baseboards off for the whole winter.

**Back-splits and side-splits.** Split levels with short duct runs and tired forced air. Some get a central heat pump on the existing ducts after a static pressure test. Others go ductless where the ducts never reached the upper level well.

**Lakefront and Bluffs homes.** Guildwood, Cliffside and Scarborough Village homes near the Bluffs take wind straight off the lake. That blows into the outdoor coil and drifts snow over it. **Raised stand, sheltered wall, intake turned off the prevailing wind.**
