Brampton requires second units to be registered, and registration runs through the same application as the building permit, so suite heating is planned to pass inspection. Bramalea, Canada's first satellite community, was built through the 1960s, a different job from the newer subdivisions to the north.

Floor plans are bigger than typical Toronto homes, so Manual J often lands on **4-ton cold-climate** sizing. Duct systems are usually decent, with an occasional undersized upstairs return.

**Legal basement suites.** They're everywhere. Each suite needs its own heat, its own AC and its own thermostat. A **single-zone mini-split** or a small ducted **Gree Flexx** keeps tenants off space heaters. The Heart Lake suite near the conservation area runs a Gree Flexx ducted to three small rooms with a strip kit for deep cold. $8,900 installed.

**Older Bramalea homes.** Bungalows and semis from the 1960s-70s with original ducts. Good candidates for furnace-to-heat-pump conversion after a static pressure test.

## Covering Bramalea to Castlemore

Crews come up the **410** for Springdale, Heart Lake and Mount Pleasant, and along the **407** and **Highway 7** for Bramalea, Castlemore and Sandringham-Wellington. Subdivision driveways and standard side yards make delivery and placement simple on most jobs.
